Get Ready for the Canada Post GAT Test!
Address Sorting Practice Questions
What is the Address Sorting Component?
The Address Sorting component is a specific section of the Canada Post General Abilities Test (GAT). It measures a candidate’s perceptual speed and accuracy. Test-takers must quickly compare a target address against a list or assign a specific address to a correct numerical range (street segment). This skill is critical for mail carriers and postal clerks who must sort mail manually in a depot.
Can You Sort Fast Enough to Get Hired?
The Address Sorting section of the Canada Post General Abilities Test (GAT) looks deceptively simple. You aren’t solving complex math or writing essays; you are just checking if addresses match or sorting them into the right “bins.” Easy, right?
Here is the catch: You have to do it at lightning speed with zero mistakes.
Most candidates fail this section not because they can’t read the addresses, but because they panic under the time limit. Accuracy is nothing without speed. To help you prepare for the pressure of the real exam, we have created a unique 2-Minute Speed Challenge.

Tip: Don’t read the whole word ‘Street’ or ‘Avenue’. Look at the Street Number first, then the First 3 Letters of the street name. That is your unique identifier.
